Introduction to Copyleaks

Copyleaks, a plagiarism detection and writing support tool is designed to enhance the experiences of both faculty and students by offering an intuitive, robust, and feature-rich platform for academic integrity and skill development.

Beginning Winter 2025 we will pilot Copyleaks which will run alongside Turnitin. Turnitin remains our primary institutional solution until further notice. 

Why Copyleaks?
Copyleaks is a comprehensive suite of tools aimed at supporting originality and academic success. The suite includes:

  • Plagiarism Checker: Advanced features to identify paraphrasing, image-based plagiarism, character manipulation, and AI-generated text.
  • Codeleaks: Specialized support for programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, and more, ensuring code originality and transparency.
  • Writing Assistant: A tool designed to guide and support students in improving their writing skills and crafting original content.
  • AI Detector: An AI content checker, delivering AI detection capabilities.

  • Comprehensive Dashboard for Faculty: Provides detailed, actionable insights into submissions, helping instructors streamline feedback and identify originality issues.

Limitations

Currently, there is no option to activate Copyleaks directly in an assignment folder within SLATE.
